Low Land High Hills

112 pages | November, 2007

A book based on photographs made by Frits Gerritsen in the 1955. While traveling in North America he visited a polder, manned by a small Dutch community. I revisited the polder, and traced members of the community, leading to the first work I made abroad. Here I learned that it is possible for to work away from the familiar, as long as my relation to what I am dealing with is part of the story.

I still have some copies of the book. Drop me an email if you are interested.
